The rapid spread of COVID-19 put healthcare institutions around the country on high alert, with special emphasis placed on those Americans deemed to be most vulnerable or with pre-existing conditions. But what happens when your entire hospital is filled with patients who fit that criteria?

A PPIC September survey found that 28% of Californians say they are very concerned about getting the coronavirus and needing to be hospitalized (33% are somewhat concerned).
This is similar to May 2020 (24% very concerned, 34% somewhat concerned), when California had about half as many new cases daily as now.

UnitedHealthcare and Canopy Health have introduced a new health plan that offers consumers in Northern California personalized customer support as well as the opportunity to save up to 25% on premiums.
As the latest addition to a portfolio of health plans the two organizations have launched together, the California Doctors Plan provides access to health care for people with employer-sponsored health coverage in nine Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano and Sonoma.
